When choosing a table for a child, parents often prefer the computer variety.

Some experts criticize this decision, justifying their opinion that the computer desk for the student is not too good, because it is computer-optimized, which does not always leave enough space for lessons in the classical sense of the word. Nevertheless, the correct choice of the model allows you to completely level any shortcomings.

Criticism of computer tables, as poorly adapted for writing, suggests that an ordinary child could be bought in the child’s room desk, but there are a few pitfalls. To begin with, the computer desk is still needed in any modern family where there are children. Today, it is hard enough to imagine an apartment in which there is no computer, and although adults are increasingly switching to more compact tablets, they are not very suitable for writing full essays. At the same time, the school program already literally requires the use of computer technology.

Written homework for children is also asked, that is, a writing table is also necessary. Some parents believe that an ordinary desk is fine for writing assignments and for placing a computer, but this is not entirely true. A computer desk with shelves and drawers is specially adapted to house a computer, everything is convenient and does not interfere, and you can also conveniently store both multimedia discs and classic paper textbooks - a regular desk does not have all these advantages.

In theory, you can simply buy two tables, of which one is written, and the second is computer. Another thing is that the layout of modern apartments is usually quite modest, so placing two tables in one room at once can be problematic. It remains to choose a computer desk that could combine the best qualities of both options.

The only possible contraindication may be a low level of discipline of the child, when the presence of a turned on computer with Internet access would interfere with learning, rather than help it, but with a limited area of ​​a nursery, there will simply be no other way out.

The variety of computer tables is quite large, so you should consider in advance which characteristics you would like to see - it will be much easier to discard the initially inappropriate models. The corner on average takes a little more space, but it fits compactly into a corner where you usually don’t put anything else. It is distinguished by the impressive size of the tabletop, and if the monitor is usually located in the very corner, then the child can fill in the notebook on any of the “wings” of the table, which is just perfect for two kids.

The direct table is much smaller, it is easier to place it in the room, but here the tabletop is smaller, so you can use it as a writing only if you use a retractable laptop, and not a desktop computer. Before going to the store, it is advisable to know exactly what area you are ready to allocate for the table.

Another important point is the equipment. One of the main advantages of a computer desk lies in a large number of drawers and shelves, however, there is no fixed form and quantity, so different models have different capacity. In general, their number can be unlimited, as long as they do not interfere. If you plan to actively use the computer desk as a writing, special attention should be paid just to add-ons - if they do not interfere directly with the child, they may limit the access of light to the tabletop.

As for materials, the most common option for computer desks is various woody boards, such as MDF and chipboard. The first is an unambiguous "yes": they are made by pressing sawdust, therefore it is no more harmful than solid wood, at a price much cheaper than it, and due to high pressure in the production process, an acceptable density and strength of the product is achieved.

The attitude to the chipboard is somewhat different - even though such a plate is cheaper, even MDF is inferior in strength, and most importantly - in its production. toxic types of glue are often used. It cannot be said that chipboard products are not worth buying in principle, but you should at least take an interest in the availability of quality certificates from the seller before making a purchase.

When choosing a table, many parents are repelled by the size of the free space in the room, but you need to understand that certain parameters are necessary for the child’s elementary convenience, and if the model of interest does not provide them, then there is no point in choosing it. When calculating the size of the tabletop, please note that not only the notebook and the hands of the child, but also a couple of textbooks should fit on it. The normal depth of a standard desk is 60 cm. The width of the place for writing depends largely on the child's age: a mini 50-60 cm is enough for first-graders, and 50 cm may be small for a high school student.

At the same time, the size of the entire tabletop should be much larger - we are talking only about the written place, and the computer desk assumes the presence of another computer. Ideally, for a table where they will write a lot, a special “pulpit” is needed for the monitor - this is how its place is clearly separated from the writing, and the chances of damaging it with an inaccurate movement of the handle are reduced. When choosing a particular model, it is better not to rely solely on numerical indicators, but take the child with you and offer him to personally test each table for convenience.

In particular, this concerns the selection of a model according to height - the main problem of choosing such furniture. For the formation of a correct posture it is necessary that the elbows of the child sitting at the table be located slightly above the level of the table top.

Since the baby is constantly growing, it is necessary to choose a table with adjustable height of the tabletop, but there is an alternative option - to purchase a chair with adjustable height of the seat.
