Special features

The full name of the complexes is “Femibion Natalcare I” and “Femibion Natalcare II”, but in everyday life they are commonly referred to as “Femibion 1” and “Femibion 2”, omitting the word “Natalker”. Preparations are made in Austria and belong to dietary supplements intended for women in different positions during pregnancy.

Fembion 1 represented only by oval tablets in a pink shell. In one pack of such “Femibion” there is one blister with 30 tablets. The supplement is prescribed in the first 12 weeks of gestation and can be used by women who are only planning a pregnancy.

Multivitamin "Femibion 2" presented not only pills, but also soft capsules. There are five blisters in one pack of this product, each of which contains six oval tablets and transparent yellowish capsules. In total, the package contains 30 capsules and 30 pink-coated tablets. This drug is used from the 13th week of gestation to the birth. In addition, it can be drunk during the breastfeeding period.

The average price of 30 tablets of complex 1 is 500 rubles, and the packing of “Femibion 2” costs 900-1000 rubles. The manufacturer advises to keep both additives at home in a dry place for no longer than 24 months from the date of manufacture.

The main advantages of "Femibion" in comparison with other multivitamins for pregnant women:

  • Both supplements are the source of the most important for women in the position of vitamins, lack of which is often detected in the period of gestation. All compounds are presented in "Femibion" in sufficient daily dosages for pregnant women.
  • Both complexes include iodine, Therefore, the expectant mother does not need to additionally purchase "Iodomarin" or other iodine-containing drugs.
  • In the composition of additives is metafolin - A special compound of folic acid registered in Germany, which additionally gives the expectant mother folates with high bioavailability. Metafolin is absorbed much better than other variants of vitamin B9, as it is a biologically active form.
  • "Fembion 2" additionally gives future moms docosahexaenoic acid, which is abbreviated as DHA or DHA. It is obtained from fish oil, which is subjected to high-quality cleaning.
  • "Fembion 1" in the planning period of conception is recommended for men. The complex contains all substances important for reproductive male health.

Composition and action

The tablet in the complex "Feimbion 2" is identical to the drug "Fembion 1" and contains:

  • 110 mg of calcium ascorbate, which is a source of vitamin C, needed to increase the resistance of the female body to viruses, strengthen the vascular walls, support collagen synthesis and improve iron absorption;
  • 15 mg of vitamin PP, important for tissue respiration and various biochemical reactions;
  • 13 mg of vitamin E, necessary to protect the cells from the action of free radicals, normal blood formation, the formation of various organ systems in the baby;
  • 5 mg of calcium pantothenate, from which the expectant mother will receive vitamin B5 for the formation of antibodies, the metabolism of fats and the synthesis of hormones;
  • 1.9 mg of vitamin B6, necessary for the metabolism of proteins and the production of enzymes;
  • 1.6 mg of vitamin B2, which is involved in many metabolic processes;
  • 1.2 mg of vitamin B1 - for normal energy and carbohydrate metabolism;
  • 200 mcg of folic acid, which is supplemented with L-methyl folate at a dosage of 208 mcg (just 1 tablet contains 400 mcg of folic acid) - for proper development of the fetal nervous system and prevention of congenital malformations;
  • 60 mcg of biotin, which affects the skin of the expectant mother;
  • 3.5 mcg of vitamin B12, necessary for the health of the nervous system and the formation of blood cells.

In addition to these vitamin compounds, each femion tablet includes potassium iodide, from which the expectant mother will receive a daily iodine rate of 150 mcg. This element plays a key role in the formation of thyroid hormones, so its lack affects both the state of the pregnant woman and the development of the baby.

Among the auxiliary components of the tablets are fillers, dyes, maltodextrin, glycerol, substances for glazing and some other compounds. If a woman in the past had a negative reaction to such ingredients, their list should be clarified in the abstract before taking multivitamins.

As for the capsules from the second complex "Fembion", then their active ingredients are two compounds: vitamin E at a dosage of 12 mg and DHA in an amount of 200 mg. Glycerol is added to these and these ingredients are placed in a fish gelatin shell.

DHA in the preparation is an omega-3 fatty acid valuable for future mothers. Its amount in each capsule is equivalent to 500 mg of fish oil.

Especially important is the effect of this acid on the baby’s vision and brain (it penetrates to the baby through the placenta and breast milk). Requirements for such a substance in the second half of pregnancy and during lactation increase significantly, and sea fish (the main source of DHA) is not present in the menu of women in order to fully ensure them.

For this reason, all expectant mothers and lactating women are advised to additionally consume DHA in a dose of at least 200 mg per day, that is, Femibion 2 capsules are perfect for this purpose. Vitamin E is added to DHA to increase its stability and digestibility.

How to use?

Drink Fembion 1 recommended one tablet per day, optimally - during the morning meal (before noon). This recommendation will eliminate the effect of the drug on nighttime sleep, since many women after taking multivitamins increase activity, so evening reception may cause difficulty in falling asleep. The tool is swallowed whole, you can not damage the shell of the tablet.

Reception complex Fembion 2 also performed once a day. The future mom should alternately drink a pill first, and then a capsule, or vice versa. Take both dosage forms preferably at the time of one meal. It is necessary to wash down the drug with a cool liquid, preferably with ordinary non-carbonated water.

Before you begin to take "Femibion", it is recommended to consult with an obstetrician-gynecologist who leads a pregnant woman. He will take into account all the peculiarities of a woman’s health and determine how long a course of taking such multivitamins should last.

It is necessary to abandon the use of the complex in case of individual intolerance, for example, if a pregnant woman has a rash, hyperemia, nausea, weakness or any other disorder after taking it.

If the expectant mother responded with such symptoms to the reception of the Femibion 1 complex in the first trimester, then from week 13 it is not recommended to drink complex number 2.In this situation, you should pick up other multivitamins for pregnant women. In addition, one should not exceed the recommended daily dosage (1 tablet or 1 tablet + 1 capsule), in an effort to provide the body with more vitamins. Exceeding their number can harm both the expectant mother and baby.

Reviews

In most cases, women are satisfied with the use of Feimbion complexes while the child is waiting. They note the good tolerability of such additives and their positive effect. In their reviews, future mothers say that it is quite convenient to swallow capsules and tablets, although they have a large size. One of the main advantages of "Femibion" called a balanced vitamin composition. The advantages of the complexes also include the presence of iodine and a special form of folic acid.

Such negative reactions as unpleasant sensations in the abdomen, drowsiness, allergic rash or nausea, are extremely rare. Most expectant mothers claim that their state of health during the “Femibion” was excellent, the signs of toxemia diminished, the hair and skin began to look better, the nails were strengthened and stopped exfoliating.

By cons complexes include the poor composition of minerals, in particular, the absence of iron and magnesium, which are very important for the normal course of pregnancy. In addition, among the disadvantages are the high cost of packaging. Although the fact that one pack of any of the drugs is used for one month is more of a plus, since doctors most often prescribe multivitamins with courses of just such a duration, after which a short pause should be made.
